Sora introduces “Build & Sip”, a new cocktail menu inspired by the creativity and nostalgia of iconic building bricks. Designed as a playful yet refined drinking experience, it invites guests to explore cocktails constructed layer by layer, where flavour, craftsmanship and storytelling come together in every glass.

Developed by Jonas Vittur, Director of Bars at Rosewood Phnom Penh, and the Sora team, the menu draws parallels between assembling bricks and building drinks, transforming familiar cocktail structures into thoughtful compositions of flavour. Each creation reflects the bar’s signature approach of combining Japanese aesthetics, local Khmer ingredients and globally inspired cocktail traditions. The result is a menu that celebrates creativity, nostalgia and cultural identity.

Each cocktail begins with the foundation of a familiar classic before being reinterpreted through Sora’s lens of flavour, technique and presentation.

Reflecting the building concept, the drinks incorporate playful design details such as studded ice blocks, architectural glassware and edible garnishes inspired by brick structures, adding visual character to each serve while maintaining a refined aesthetic.

The menu also highlights locally sourced ingredients and regional produce, celebrating Cambodia’s agricultural heritage while supporting a more thoughtful and sustainable approach to cocktail creation.

Cocktail Highlights

Khmer Colada captures the spirit of adventure and shared journeys. The cocktail combines white rum, pineapple and coconut with Cambodian curry spices, sansho pepper, and a gentle touch of chili, creating a tropical drink layered with warmth and gentle spice.

Cherry Lady Punch draws inspiration from cherry blossom landscapes and the meeting of Japanese symbolism and Cambodian produce. Presented as a clarified milk punch, it blends cashew nut whiskey, spiced rum, ratafia rossa, almond liqueur, Cointreau, cherry syrup, and sakura tea, finished with a dark chocolate garnish infused with cashew and pepper notes.

Nihon Gimlet evokes the calm of a tranquil garden setting. Served in a ceramic tea cup inspired by Japanese tea rituals, the cocktail combines Japanese gin, matcha green tea and kaffir lime leaf, resulting in a crisp, aromatic drink with herbal depth and citrus freshness. Sora’s continued creativity behind the bar comes at a time of growing international recognition. In 2025, the bar was ranked No. 65 on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51 to 100 list, becoming the first bar in Cambodia to appear on the prestigious regional ranking. The Glendronach Distillery unveils The Master’s Anthology, a new collection of Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky that captures the breadth and depth of sherry cask maturation. Curated by acclaimed Master Blender Rachel Barrie, this anthology celebrates almost 200 years of expertise in crafting rich and complex single malts.

The new collection comprises three non-age-statement single malts, with each expression composed to celebrate a different aspect of the rich and rewarding Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky: Ode to The Valley, Ode to The Embers, and Ode to The Dark.

The Master’s Anthology begins with Ode to The Valley, a fruit-forward expression of floral nectar and summer berry notes, matured in port and sherry casks. A rare peated expression, Ode to The Embers blends smoky peat with spiced richness from Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks. The richest expression, Ode to The Dark, offers notes of layered chocolate, black cherry and dates, matured in Pedro Ximénez casks.

Drawing upon three decades of skill and dedication, the releases explore the aromatic depth and character of The Glendronach’s signature sherry cask whisky, culminating in some of the richest, darkest expressions ever crafted from the historic Boynsmill House.

Today marks the second launch from Johnnie Walker Vault and Olivier Rousteing – The Couture Blend – a homage to personal evolution, fearless artistry and creative tension.

Crafted in the Johnnie Walker Vault, a creative ‘atelier’ hidden deep beneath Princes Street in Edinburgh, The Couture Blend follows the success of Couture Expression, the first release under the Johnnie Walker Vault luxury platform.

Launched earlier this year as a showcase of blending artistry, Johnnie Walker Vault unites bespoke blends, luxurious experiences and collaborations with cultural icons under one visionary banner.

The Couture Blend is a limited-edition luxury Scotch whisky with experimentation and progress at its heart. Imagined by Rousteing as the centrepiece of his collection with Johnnie Walker Vault, it is a liquid manifesto of style, balance and spirit.

Pushing the boundaries of what a luxury Scotch can be, its profile showcases experimental modern whiskies alongside vintage and ghost whiskies from long-closed distilleries. Rousteing’s architectural bottle design also merges tradition with reinvention – bringing his radically modern couture aesthetic to redefine the codes of luxury Scotch.

The whisky launches at a significant moment for Rousteing, coinciding with his 40th birthday – a milestone he describes as “entering a new chapter with wisdom, freedom and serenity.” To honour this, Dr. Emma Walker included several whiskies of at least 40 years old, layering them with experimental and rare whiskies to create a unique tension of flavour and style.

In crafting the blend, Dr. Walker selected just 10 whiskies from the Johnnie Walker Vault – a liquid library of 500 rare whiskies curated from 10 million casks of Scotch. She chose ghost whiskies from closed distilleries such as Port Dundas and Caledonian to tell a story of tradition and rarity, layering them with trailblazing whiskies from the 80s and 90s, including Benrinnes, Cragganmore and Cameronbridge. Contemporary expressions from the last two decades, such as Cardhu, Roseisle and Teaninich, brought experimentation in process and finishes.

“I was inspired by Olivier’s story of progress over the last forty years, from his early self-discovery to his daring modern creativity. In this blend, I leaned into progressive and experimental whiskies from the past and present – whiskies that push boundaries just as Olivier does in couture,” said Dr Walker.

She continued: “I chose rare malts from Roseisle matured in ex-wine casks for fruity tropical flavours, a spicy chocolate malt experiment from Teannich for tonka notes, and a ghost cask from Port Ellen for a unique cloak of smoke. Blending these with Johnnie Walker’s classic flavours has resulted in something singular which I hope captures Olivier’s spirit.”

The thread of progress and creative tension continues in Rousteing’s design for The Couture Blend. He reinterpreted the proportions of luxury crystal decanters while paying homage to the square bottles iconic to Johnnie Walker since the 1800s. The result is an architectural decanter that clashes heritage with a more maximalist contemporary aesthetic.

Sculptural with prominent shoulders, the crystal bottle is topped with an oversized square stopper. This plays on proportions and echoes Rousteing’s bold tailoring, whilst staying true to Johnnie Walker heritage. The decanter is dressed in gold, with select retailers also offering a personalisable collar engraved with the collector’s initials.

Rousteing said, “I wanted to create something that captures the tension between minimalism and maximalism, sparking conversation and curiosity, anchored in the present yet futuristic and timeless. I loved the paradox of pure crystal and decadent gold, finishing the decanter with the oversized stopper. For such a unique whisky, blending old with new and traditional with experimental, it felt the perfect, unexpected piece of art to treasure.”

He added, “In every couture show, there is a look designed to take the viewers’ breath away – the signature of the collection. For me, The Couture Blend is just that.”

The Speyside distillery announced an exclusive long-term partnership with Aston Martin Formula One™ Team in November 2024 – bringing together two timeless brands renowned for their heritage, innovation and relentless pursuit of excellence. The partnership launched at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One™ Team toasted this new collaboration, which celebrates mastery and design.

In Malaysia, the partnership will also be celebrated through Club 1959. Named after a milestone year when Aston Martin first entered Grand Prix racing and an ultra-rare release of Glenfiddich 1959, a 65-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Club 1959 is a tribute to bold innovation and the timeless craft of both brands.

The first Club 1959 takeover will debut at Whisky House KL on 10 September, where guests will be among the first in Malaysia to taste the Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One™ Team 16-Year-Old Limited Edition. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in immersive racing simulator sessions and high-speed reflex challenges during our Club 1959 activation. Additional Club 1959 pop-ups will roll out during the campaign period, with updates to be announced on Glenfiddich’s official website
