The Lighting Festival is an annual light festival held in Korea that combines coloured LED lights with natural surroundings. The festival is held at the Garden of Morning Calm and visitors would be able to visit the magnificently lit garden from December until March.

Every winter, mesmerising coloured lights at the Garden of Morning Calm will be switched on right after sunset. Under the dark sky, the garden resembles a mini wonderland in a fantasy world and it brightens up the mood of everyone who sets foot on the magical place.

Visitors could take a two-hour trip from Seoul to get to the garden which is known to be one of the most popular tourists’ destinations during winter. The garden is covered in snow during winter and it is also surrounded by snow-capped mountains and valleys. In the day, the garden is covered by a bright beautiful white blanket of snow while at night, the lights illuminate the garden and transform it into a winter wonderland.

At every part of the garden, there will be different sculptures of animals, love and flowers decorated with colourful lights. Illuminated arch tunnels, a glowing horse and a carriage are among the many tranquil and dazzling sights in the garden during winter. A total of 30,000 lights are used to light up the entire garden.
