Le Bristol Paris Celebrates The Holiday Season

Dec 17, 2024 | Festivals, Travel

For the end-of-year festivities, Le Bristol Paris adorns itself with its most beautiful lights, illuminating the hotel from the facade to the Jardin Français with sparkling reflections. The centerpiece of this enchanted season is the nativity scene, a fairy-tale installation that transports our guests to the warm and magical atmosphere of 18th-century Naples. Our Parisian Palace has once again engaged the exceptional talent of Ulderico Pinfildi, an acclaimed artisan renowned for his delicate handcrafted interpretation of the Neapolitan nativity.

This extraordinary exhibit is an expansion of the original commission from last season, which Madame Elvira Oetker, member of Le Bristol Paris owner family, led after visiting the famed artist’s atelier in Naples. This year’s scene takes place on the hunting table, imbuing the hotel lobby with a festive and poetic ambiance.

This work comes to life through fourty centimeters high figurines, meticulously sculpted in terracotta. Inspired by the vibrancy and baroque richness of bygone Naples, these sculptures depict authentic characters from daily life, frozen in animated scenes. Ulderico Pinfildi thus celebrates the cultural diversity of Naples through his creations, echoing the cosmopolitan ethos of our establishment.

Under the guidance of Madame Elvira Oetker and Madame Narcisa Oetker, this installation becomes an invitation to momentarily escape the pace of the festive season to immerse oneself in a magical world depicting a panorama of ancient village life and admire the craftmanship of a supreme master of his medium.

“It is an honor to once again have my work showcased in the splendor of Le Bristol Paris. My wish is for guests to spend a moment to enjoy this work of art, note the intricacy of each piece and contemplate its diversity. The Oetker family has once again given me the opportunity to illustrate a cultural moment for my art and the history of my city, Naples” comments Ulderico Pinfildi.
