Following the sold-out success of 2024, this year’s festival raises the bar with over 100 distinctive brews from local and international names, featuring a host of exclusive collaborations and debut pours never before seen in Singapore. From juicy IPAs and decadent stouts to fruited sours and crisp lagers, Brewnanza Fest 2025 promises a flavour-packed weekend designed for beer fans of all stripes. 

The Ultimate Beer & Bites Playground 

At the heart of the experience is Singapore’s own Brewlander, debuting a limited-edition brew crafted specially for the festival. They’re joined by local standouts who have helped shape the city’s evolving craft beer scene, such as Lion Brewery Co., celebrated for its sessionable, tropical-style ales; Alive Brewing known for their fruit-forward sours and hazy IPAs; and the ever-bold flavours of Ren Min. 

This year will also mark the debut of the Brewers Association (USA), presenting a collection of 16 acclaimed American breweries. Among them is Fremont Brewing, a multi-award-winning name revered for its complexity, and Side Project, whose wild ales are so limited they’re coveted even in their native St. Louis. Other newcomers to join this year’s Brewnanza edition include Verdant Brewing Co. from the UK, known for its lush, hop-forward IPAs; Finland’s boundary-pushing Revenant Brewing Project; Japan’s rising star West Coast Brewing; and Thailand’s cult favourite, Samata.  

Returning festival goers can look forward to the return of familiar favourites, with Germany’s Sudden Death Brewing and Australia’s Rocky Ridge back on the taps. 

Known for their unique expressions, beers from both breweries have become Brewnanza staples over the years. They’ll be joined by regional trailblazers like Japan’s Uchu Brewing and Hong Kong’s Young Master and Heroes Beer Co. For those seeking something beyond the beer, the festival also features cocktails on tap from Taiwan’s Draft Land and artisanal ciders from Dancing Cider. 

Beyond the Brews 

Brewnanza Fest delivers a full-on sensory experience, where food lovers can refuel with a curated line-up of crowd-favourite vendors. Award-winning Chinese BBQ Restaurant MEOW Barbecue will be bringing its charred skewers to Brewnanza for the first thing. Meanwhile, Smokeys BBQ will be serving up American-style smoked meats and signature fall-off-the-bone ribs. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer will also bring their legendary, juice-loaded burgers, while Papi’s Tacos will showcase their array of Mexican tacos. Cheeky rotisserie Chico Loco will also be present at Brewnanza,  bringing their juicy chickens that go perfect with your favourite pint.  

Music and entertainment is a big part of Brewnanza’s DNA, and the team is always dedicated to curating different genres and bands for a vibrant music line-up. Guests can expect lively performances by indie bands, regional DJs, and party collectives, creating a soundtrack that flows from sunlit afternoons to late-night energy. Guests can expect a dynamic mix of live acts and DJ sets, with the full programme to be announced in the coming weeks. 

A Festival Built by Brewers, for Beer Lovers 

Also available this year are masterclasses and brewing demos led by industry pros, offering guests a hands-on chance to learn the art and science behind their favourite pints. Each ticket comes with a pour of the exclusive 2025 Brewnanza Festival Brew, created specially for the event. In the lead-up to the weekend, participating bars and restaurants across Singapore will host special tap takeovers, pairing menus and preview parties, giving ticket holders early access to the action citywide. 

“Brewnanza has always been about making craft beer approachable for new drinkers, while giving long-time fans something to get excited about,” says Brewlander founder John Wei. “When we first started, most people played it safe. Now, they’re chasing down barrel-aged sours and geeking out over wild fermented ale. That shift says a lot — people are becoming more curious, more adventurous. This year’s line-up taps into that energy and gives a glimpse into how the scene is growing and evolving.”

“Yuyuan Lantern Festival 2025” lights up Bangkok to celebrate 50 years of Thai–Chinese diplomatic ties.

During the second meeting of the International Council for the Day of Vesak (ICDV) and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on February 26, important preparations for Vesak 2025 were discussed. The meeting was chaired by Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn – President of the VBS Executive Council, Head of the Organising Committee and Most Venerable Phra Brahmapundit, President of ICDV.

Delegates agreed on various aspects of the UN Vesak 2025 programme, scheduled to take place from May 6 to 8, along with side events featuring international delegates. According to the plan, the first day will welcome leaders of Buddhist sanghas from different countries. The second day will feature a series of group seminars on five key subtopics, engaging scholars, particularly young researchers. On the third day, the closing ceremony will be held in the morning. In the afternoon, delegates and venerable monks will travel to Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh.

At the summit of Ba Den Mountain, a solemn candlelight prayer ceremony for world peace will be held, with the participation of over 2,000 Vesak delegates from 80 countries and territories. This event is considered a profoundly meaningful activity aligned with the theme of Vesak 2025 ‘Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development.’

Most Venerable Phra Brahmapundit said that this year’s programme encompasses various contents, with ‘peace’ being one of the most prominent. It can be understood as peace of mind, a fundamental foundation for social stability, global harmony and the finding of peace in nature and the environment.

“With Ba Den Mountain, I can feel the essence of ‘peace’ through the Buddhist spirit and the presence of the Maitreya Bodhisattva statue, a symbol of joy and serenity. This sacred mountain allows one to immerse in nature, share tranquillity with others and spread the spirit and message of world peace in practice,” Most Venerable Phra Brahmapundit shared.

The President of ICDV also highlighted that this is not merely an abstract idea but a concrete example of how we can live in peace while developing the economy, without destroying the environment or causing harm to others. This is why a sacred spiritual destination filled with positive energy like Ba Den Mountain will serve as a place where individuals can seek healing and tranquillity.

As part of the second discussion meeting on Vesak 2025, representatives from the Ba Den Mountain tourist area reported on preparations for the candlelight prayer ceremony for world peace.

“Hosting the Vesak 2025 delegation for the world peace candlelight prayer ceremony is a tremendous honour for the Ba Den Mountain tourist area. On May 8, we will also hold special ceremonies to welcome the delegation during this grand Buddhist event, including a bodhi tree planting ceremony and the enshrinement of Buddha relics for Buddhists and the public to pay homage,” Nguyen Lam Nhi Thuy, Deputy General Director of Sun Group in the Southern region, said.

Paying homage to the Buddha’s relics during the Vesak festival is one of the most spiritually significant rituals, allowing Buddhist followers and the public to receive the Buddha’s blessings. Ba Den Mountain is one of the few places in Vietnam that preserves the Buddha’s relics, which were bestowed by the World Fellowship of Buddhists at Bodh Gaya, India, in 2014.

As part of the Vesak 2025 celebrations, the Vietnamese government has also considered approving the VBS to organise a procession of the Buddha’s relics from India and receive the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc for enshrinement.

Scheduled from May 6 to 8, the UN Day of Vesak 2025 is one of the most significant international cultural events, honouring humanistic values and global peace. Vietnam is expected to welcome about 2,000 delegates from 80 countries and territories, including UN officials, heads of state, supreme Buddhist leaders, presidents of Buddhist organisations and numerous scholars and intellectuals worldwide.

That evening, the largest drone show in the city’s history buzzed to life above downtown Evergreen Park. Three thousand drones danced in and out of formation, painting floating coconut trees, bougainvillea flowers, and many more Hainan themed images that shone as bright as the sparkling lights of the city skyline below.

As the drone show came to an end, the fireworks show burst onto the stage of the skies. At 9 PM on the dot, Haikou Bay was lit up by a thunderous roar as thousands of golden meteors shot high into the air, painting the heavens with streaks of shining sparks. For the first time in 13 years, a fireworks show was underway in Haikou. Not just any fireworks show but a level-1 fireworks display, the highest level show possible. As the crowds watched in wonder, ‘Rainbow Lucky Cloud’ fireworks burst in cotton candy hues, bringing the show to a climactic end.

The Haikou fireworks show was visible across three city districts – Meilan, Longhua and Xiuying, and the six kilometre-long coastal viewing area, including prominent landmarks such as the Wormhole Library, Century Park and HCC Plaza provided viewers plenty of room to enjoy the show.

A Chinese city known for a rich cultural atmosphere, Haikou took the opportunity of this year’s fireworks show to showcase the area’s intangible cultural heritage through the medium of the latest technology. Over sixty supporting activities were also held during the holiday period, including the Flower Exchange Festival Art Week, allowing attendees to enjoy the festival in a myriad of ways and boosting the local economy.

Nanning City in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region held a cross-border gala to celebrate this year’s Spring Festival.

Themed on “Celebrating the Spring Festival across mountains and seas, Seeking harmonious and happy reunion”, the gala utilized artificial intelligence (AI) technology in music sound effects and background video production, providing the audience with an immersive experience, and adhered closely to the youthful expression of Generation Z, conveying the charm of traditional culture while exuding youthful fashion enthusiasm.

Nearly a hundred Chinese and foreign performers presented a visual and auditory feast showcasing the Chinese temperament, international charm, and youthful spirit.

The gala was divided into four chapters to express the meaning of “new vitality, warmth of home, romance of love, and openness and shared prosperity”, fully demonstrating the charm of traditional Chinese culture with dance, instrumental ensemble, opera dance, and situational drama, etc.

Performers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries endowed the gala with unique warmth and affection. The “BODY GUARD” brought by the popular Thai boy band PERSES sparked a heat atmosphere on site; the joint singing of representative songs of Southeast Asian countries brought unique exotic charm; the Sino-Vietnamese chorus reflected the deep friendship between China and Vietnam, and the open and inclusive attitude of Nanning in building an international metropolis that is open to cooperation with the ASEAN.

The gala also set up sub venues in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and Laos to showcase the joyful scenes of people from different regions celebrating the Spring Festival together through unique shots and programs, allowing the audience to experience the festive atmosphere and cultural characteristics of different countries and regions.

A fair featuring intangible cultural heritage was also created outside the gala venue, attracting foreign guests to immerse themselves in intangible cultural heritage and experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture by admiring Spring Festival paintings, making lanterns, painting sugar paintings, etc.

The gala was broadcast on Nanning’s local TV channel NNTV-1 at 20:00 on Monday night. It was also reported and broadcast by 48 media platforms in about 16 countries and regions, with subtitles translated into English, Lao, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai.

Representatives from local media outlets, local officials and consular officials from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia attended the gala.
