Ever since his official debut as Barbie’s stylish other half in 1961, Ken has been a bold fashion trailblazer, ever evolving with the times to be medium of inspiration for all ages and genders, thus challenging the misconceptions of what’s ‘just a doll’. In a reimagining fit for the 21st century, Berluti and Mattel have come together to create a modern, diverse, stylish Ken through the creation of three unique one of a kind dolls developed by Berluti’s Creative Director Kris Van Assche.
From a brown leather jacket worn with a short-sleeved printed silk shirt, elasticated trousers and braided calf leather Camden shoes to a Prince of Wales double breasted suit with a Ken & Berluti logo tee and Camden shoes, and a printed shirt combined with black trousers, a belt and braided calf leather Stellar sneakers, all three figurines are eloquently dressed in looks from the Berluti x Brian Rochefort collection. Also joining the ensemble is a miniature version of the Nino clutch and the Berluti beach buggy manufactured by Hot Wheels which was revealed back in 2020.

Berluti has also released a special mini-capsule collection of two dedicated apparel items featuring a T-shirt and a Nino clutch displaying Berluti and Ken’s interlaced logos. Both pieces are available worldwide online and at Berluti stores throughout the U.S, France, China and Japan.

“Throughout Ken’s iconic history, cultural relevance and diversity have been core to his evolution. These themes perfectly align with Berluti’s fashion and values, so it made total sense to come together to celebrate Ken’s 60th anniversary”, says Mattel Senior Director of Barbie Design, Robert Best.
The three dolls will be up for digital auction at Drouot between May 28 and 30, with proceeds from the event going to supporting the children’s charity, Make-A-Wish.
