Ella Emhoff Lands A Knitwear Collaboration With Batsheva Hay

It’s been an exciting start to the year for Ella Emhoff. In less than 2 months, the 21-year-old model and designer made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week for Proenza Schouler, sold her own collection of knits under e-retailer Mall (with raving success) and caught the eye of IMG Models, who swiftly signed her to an exclusive modelling contract.

Now she’s set to release a limited knitwear collection with New York designer Batsheva Hay. The two previously worked together on a custom dress Emhoff wore during the January Inauguration of President Joe Biden and her step-mother Vice President Kamala Harris.

The announcement was made via an episode of Good Morning Vogue, opening on the Parsons fine arts student with her friends, Fifi Hodgkinson and Irene Hayes, talking about her whirlwind rise to success in her New York apartment and knit studio. “I remember a few days before the inauguration we were talking about what you were going to wear and we were very excited—I was joking that you were going to become a style icon. Remember that?” Hodgkinson recalls.

Although not much was revealed as to when we may hope to see the fruition of this collaboration, from the looks of the video, it’s one to keep an eye out for. In the meantime, check out the episode below as the knit aficionados exchange creative views on the prospects for their forthcoming collaboration:
